Many authors choose to hire someone to create their e-book covers for them.  In my opinion, designing your own cover is a GREAT way to get your creative juices flowing while simultaneously saving money--no one knows the characters and themes of your new novel better than you, and there are so many free tools available to help you during the process. For example, Photoshop has a free YouTube tutorial solely in designing your own cover! Not artistically talented? It doesn't matter! Stick with a simple color scheme and contrasted, clean geometric shapes--they look wonderful in thumbnail size! Search around Google and find a tool that caters to your needs; at least try your own design before going to a professional...you might surprise yourself!​
